Turkalicious 🦃

Updated: Jan 17, 2019

Not everyone enjoys Ham for Christmas and that’s alright, Indecisive Foodie has got you covered with a beautiful recipe for a Turkey Breast!

So while you’re cooking ham on one side, you can do the turkey on other side for some of your guests. Pair it with sides of Roasted Potatoes, Peas, Broccoli, Carrots, and don’t forget, your special gravy. 😉

If you don’t have a recipe for your gravy I‘ll post one below also.

Let‘s take a look at this beautiful Turkey Breast and what to do with it! The recipe video will be posted on my Instagram and Facebook page @indecisive.foodie; unfortunately I cannot post videoes to this page but you can check it out on my social media platforms :)

Turkey Breast Ingredients:

  1. 1 Turkey Breast

  2. Salt and Black Pepper

  3. 1 Whole Head of Garlic

  4. 1 Onion

  5. 1 stick of Cinnamon

  6. 1 Nutmeg Seed

  7. Rosemary Sprigs (Optional)

  8. Garlic infused oil

  9. 1” deep baking tray

Directions:

  • Preheat oven at 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Cover the breast in salt and black pepper, rubbing into the meat.

  • Cover the base of the baking tray with approximately 1cm thickness of oil.

  • Place the turkey into the tray.

  • Cut the garlic head and the onion into halves and surround the turkey with them. They are strictly for aromatic purposes.

  • Add the rosemary sprigs (optional), the cinnamon and the nutmeg around the turkey in the tray as well.

  • Bake for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

  • Serve with your Gravy (recipe below) 🎄

Turkey Gravy:

The turkey breast we bought came with a packet of gravy. Don’t panic if yours doesn’t.

  1. When your turkey is finished, remove all the ingredients from the pan and take the sauce that was left behind and pour it into a sauce pan.

  2. Using the water that you boiled your vegetables in (Peas preferably), add 2 cups of this as your stock.

  3. If your turkey came with a packet of gravey, pour it in. If not, again don’t panic.

  4. If you didn’t the gravey packet, take the opportunity to add about 1/4 cup of flour and whisk.

  5. After either steps 3 or 4, add 1 teaspoon of brown sugar, salt and black pepper to taste.

  6. Let boil for a few minutes and then serve with your turkey 🦃
