Kale Chips - Say What?!

I know right! Kale?! Is she serious?! Guess what - I am. You know I only post delicious tasting sh*t on my blog!

Kale - A Nutritional Powerhouse, low in calories, high in fiber & has ZERO fat.

Per Calorie, Kale has more iron than beef. Iron is essential for good health, such as the formation of hemoglobin and enzymes, transporting oxygen to various parts of the body, cell growth, proper liver function and more.

Kale is High in Vitamin A & C - Vitamin A good for your vision and skin and Vitamin C which is good for your immune system and hydration.

Now you may also be wondering why I specify #OliveOil in every single post. I like the flavor that Olive Oil introduces into your food. Other than that, Olive Oil is known to be rich in vitamins and minerals due to its non-chemical mode of extraction. It is believed to decrease in the rate of heart disease due to its high content of monosaturated fatty acids. However in this particular meal, Olive Oil gives the best taste to the Kale.

So What Do You Need?

  1. Kale

  2. Olive Oil

  3. Salt

  4. Chilli Flakes & Black Pepper (Optional - Oregano & Paprika to replace Chili Flakes & Black Pepper)

Remove the stems from the Kale leaves by slicing along the stem to the ends of the leaf. You can cut them up based on the sizes you want.

Place baking sheet on tray (MUST do this)

Brush each side with Olive Oil

Sprinkle salt onto leaves in tray.

Then add your other spice based on your preference - Black Pepper/Oregano/Chili Flakes/Paprika.

(Made these for my mom recently and she's on a strict diet from her doctor to avoid salt and black pepper - So I substituted each for Oregano and Paprika only)

Pre-heat oven for 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 mins.

Place tray in and cook for about 5-7 mins. Depending on your oven, some may cook faster or slower than others. So pay attention. You're cooking it until the edges turn brown and crispy!

Take em out, empty onto a plate or bowl - And enjoy your healthy Kale Chips :)
