From my Mother’s kitchen to yours!
I must confess, this isn’t my curry crab recipe but my mom’s. She decided to make this special for my dad for Father’s Day today!
With her permission I will now bestow her precious recipe onto you Foodies!
Ingredients:
9-10 Sea Crabs. Cleaned and cut into cooking size.
2 Limes
1 tbsp Vinegar
Chadon Beni, Celery, Garlic, Salt, Hot Peppers for seasoning
Coconut Milk
Maggi Crab Seasoning
Vegetable Oil
1/2 tbsp each of Curry Powder, Roasted Geera Powder, Anchar Massala, Saffron
1/2 Potato
Directions:
Wash crabs thoroughly with cold water and limes.
Add crabs to a bowl and add vinegar and blended seasoning mix. Blend your Chadon Beni, Celery, Garlic, Salt, Hot Peppers (amount to your taste). Keep this bowl!
Let crabs marinate for 45 minutes in this mixture.
Add oil to a pot and then add curry mixture to hot oil. Let burn then add 1/2 cup of water to finish burning your curry.
Add crabs to pot and cook for approximately 15mins.
After this time, using the bowl with the seasoning, add 2 cups of water and then add to the pot.
Let cook for another 20 mins. During this time add coconut milk and Maggi crab seasoning.
Grate half a potato and add into the sauce to thicken it.
Serve with a side of rice, calalloo dumplings and enjoy! 🤗
Note the Vinegar helps to soften the crab shell!
