Chocolate Melting Cake - Yummm

Updated: Sep 21, 2018

This recipe is adapted from those Carnival Line Cruises - if you've been you know what I'm talking about. Hope you enjoy learning to make it home!

I know you've waited on this recipe and I'm here to share it with you. It's so simple, so quick and best enjoyed when warm :)

If you're a chocoholic, this one's for you! The rich, creamy texture of the dark chocolate is something you cannot resist! It'll definitely get your taste buds tingling. Ready for the experience?

Let Me Tell You What You Need:

  1. 4 Ramekins

  2. 2 Packs of Dark Chocolate (approximately 6 oz) - Whichever brand you prefer. I've used Lindtt because I'm in love with their texture of chocolate

  3. 4 Eggs

  4. 1/2 cup of flour

  5. 1/8 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

  6. 1 stick of butter

  7. 3/4 cup of white sugar

Instructions:

Now, I cheated here and stuck my butter in the microwave for 1 minute. You can too or you can heat it in a pan whichever works for you.

This is the only tricky part, melting your chocolate properly. Get a small sauce pan and fill quarter way with water. Get a bowl that can take heat and make sure it can sit comfortably on top of the pan without touching the water or toppling over. It should look something like this:

Bring the water to a boil, and add your chocolate to the bowl. Allow the chocoloate to melt fully with no clumps. The water below will be simmering, that's alright.

In the meantime, whisk the eggs and the sugar together properly. Add the vanilla essence and flour to the mixture and whisk until the flour is well coated with the wet mixture and there are no remaining dry streaks or clumps of flour.

Preheat your oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Once the chocolate is finished melting, add the melted butter to the mixture followed by the chocolate and stir well.

Pour the mixture into the ramekins at 3/4 full.

Bake for 14 minutes and check with a skewer. Once the top looks soft and spongy and the inside of the cake is still moist with chocolate on the skewer then it's finished.

Remove from oven, dust your powdered sugar on top to finish and serve warm :)
