Chocolate Apples for Halloween! 🕷

Updated: Jan 17, 2019

‘What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly’

So here’s a fun recipe for kids to do with you! It gets a bit tricky with the marsmallows but its also the best part. The good thing is it’s really easy to cleanup though it’s a sticky mess. Try to contain the marshmallows in your bowl and plate accordingly.

Go to my Instagram page @indecisive.foodie to see the video on how to place the marshmallow web!

So What Do You Need?

  1. Granny Apples

  2. Two bars of Dark Chocolate

  3. Marshmallows

  4. Rasberry/Cranberry Jam

  5. Palette Sticks

Here’s What To Do:

  • You wanna wash your apples under warm running water for a minute or two then dry with a paper towel.

  • Take a knife and use the tip to pierce like a centimeter into the top of the apple and stick your palette stick into it.

  • Get a pot of water and bring to a boil and place a bowl that can take heat, and place into the water ensuring that the water doesn’t spill over but just covers the bowl. See the picture below.

  • Add your chocolate to the bowl and let it melt.

  • Coat your apples in the chocolate and let sit on a tray covered in parchment paper.

  • Place in the refrigerator for 30 mins.

  • After the 30mins, melt the marshmallows exactly like you did the chocolate.

  • When it looks like this, you’re going to use your fingers to create the web. It’s really sticky so play with it between your fingers and then wrap around your apples. To help you, place each apple on a separate plate.

  • Roast 1 Marshmallow for each plate lightly and smear to the base.

  • Take a teaspoon and scoop some of your jam out and place in a blob onto the marshmallow on the plate. Spread a little.

  • Place your apple on the plate and gently squish the jam a little.

Now they’re ready to serve! Have fun at your party serving these! 🍏🕸
